Completely finished!

Although it's great wetter here, I did some sewing today. The hearts were shouting to me :) And I'm so happy with the endresult!!! Again with Rouenneries fabrics, but they matched perfectly. And the thick linen with the red dots is ideal to use as a pillow cover. I'm already looking forward to this evening, when I'm sitting in my chair with this wonderful pillow.

Thansk again to everyone who stitched a heart on this sampler. I'll treasure it forever...

I stitched my last heart on a Friendship RR...and Karen's is on its way home

The title says it all. With my choice of Needle Necessities #189 overdyed thread, I stitched my hear on Karen's RR as soon as it arrived and was able to put in the last stitches yesterday morning and had it in the mail in the afternoon. It is scheduled to arrive at her house on or before the end of next week.

And here is Karen's RR, with all our hearts stitched...

It was bittersweet sending my last Friendship RR out to Karen - as I know that it means that this RR is just about over and will finish up when mine is back home.

Hey ladies! I do believe this is my FIRST post on this blog! Shame on me! :) LOL I really need to get updates from you ladies! I emailed a week ago, and the ones who I really needed to hear from didn't email me back! Figures, right?!!

If you have completed all your stitching, and have received your own RR back home. Please let me know ASAP! I need to know who all and what all I am still dealing with! :)

I am waiting to hear if one last RR has made it across the big ocean! :) Can somebody in NL let me know?! And Danielle, I need to hear from you, which RR's you still have!

April's RR will be leaving California

I finished stitching my heart on to April's RR last night. I used DMC #1345 (which is kind of a varigated strand with teal, lime, yellowish and periwinkle blue) and white. Her RR is beautiful - I just love the color scheme and the many had sewn in the date or where they live on it. I am going to try and get it in the mail today so that it arrives at Karen's house soon.
The arrival of April's RR was a stressful one - as Karen first sent it out late March - and for some reason the post office decided that it was "undeliverable". So, it bounced around between Arizona and California for a week or so, finally going back to Kathy. The address was correct, so there really was no logical excuse for the delay. Yet, the second time she sent it out to me it arrived here without any issues. Talk about being nervous...well, like Kathy, I am going to put some tracking device on this when I send it out so that I can verify it's travels until it lands safely at Karen's

My heart has been added to Deborah's RR and I will be getting it into the mail to Karen.

The fabric that Deborah has chosen is really soft. Every time I took out the RR to stitch on it (yes, it took me more than one sittings...hard to keep oneself down during this time of the year) I would comment, "Boy, this fabric is so soft," and the boys/DH would look at me and roll their eyes. I don't think that they cared much, or I just commented on it too much. Anyway, with Deborah's stitched I figured out that I only have 4 more to stitch...so we are getting close to the end.

...is now packaged up with Diana's to go back to the Netherlands! I've got one more RR here--Lisa's--but I'll be honest and tell you that I'm not touching it for a week. I have two Christmas presents that MUST be finished by next Sunday and so they will get all of my stitching time this week.

Sara's RR - Lisa's Heart completed Thanksgiving weekend

I finished stitching on Sara's RR this evening. I started on Thanksgiving, after eating our noon meal. I chose Threadworx Overdyed Floss #10342 - which reminded me of the trees in our front yard, which are turning colors...we have a very late Fall here in Northern California...and went well with the Thanksgiving holiday.

I will make sure to get it in the mail by Monday, November 30. Take care Lisa

I received Kathy's Friendship Sampler by mail and stitched it right away. So it's ready to be send to Karin. It's nice to see the RR's are on the move again!

Kathy has her own color-combination and sent the threads along with the RR. I've picked a lavender-blue shade out of it.

Well, it looks like my visit with Carolyn is also coming to an end. I finished adding my heart to her RR this evening (while watching Hell's Kitchen). Because there are so many girls from Canada, which is abbreviated CA...I decided to stitch "Cal" for California. I hope that Carolyn will be ok with that. I love the addition to the month and the year that we all stitched; that makes a great way to remember when this all took place.

Tomorrow Carolyn's and Marian's RR will be packaged up and sent to Karen. I enjoyed their visit and sad to see them go - but I know that it is time to send them on their way as they are one step closer to going home.

Monday afternoon there was knock on the door. "I wonder who that could be?" I asked myself. Running down the stairs (for I was upstairs folding laundry, something I could definitely put off). I opened the door and saw the mailperson with an awesome manilla envelope. I saw that it was from Kathy, so I knew what it contained. "Thank you, thank you," I excitedly said to the mailperson. Immediately, as soon as the door closed, I tore open the package and saw Marian's and Carolyn's RRs were here to visit me in California. It was so good to have RR friends here, visiting again - I have definitely missed the company. Knowing that their visit needs to be short and sweet, I started the visit with Marian's. I took a little time to read through her letter and the little note book enclosed - catching up and visiting with all the RR girls. Knowing how I was going to make my mark, I whipped out my Q-snaps, needle and thread and began to add my heart to Marian's RR. It was a quick stitch - starting on Tuesday evening and finishing up at the hockey rink on Wednesday (while Robert - older son - was at practice).Above you can see how the RR is growing and here is how my heart came out:

I stitched "Ca...for California...and USA". Well, Marian, it was a very nice visit...but now I am going to visit with Carolyn this weekend and make my mark on her RR. And then I must send you both on your way.

Karen asked for the earthy colortones of the original, but in our own choice of threads. So I picked a thread of the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe and DMC.

This afternoon I finished adding my heart to Simone's RR. She requested that we stitch our heart in some shade of red and sign our name/state or country in 3021. I enjoyed stitching my heart on her RR - using DMC varigated 115 and ecru.

There seemed to be a pattern of light and dark red hearts going on Simone's sampler, so I continued it by stitching a darker heart in Cherry Bark by GAST.

In addition to Karin's RR (see post below) - I will also be putting my RR in the mail to Karen this afternoon! Yahoo! Due to the poor lighting, it is hard to see the colors, but basically I am still going for the neutral color scheme outlined by the pattern - however if you have some over dyed or silks that are similar to the DMC color on the key, please feel free to use it. All information is included in the package. I am so excited to be back into the RR again!

After stitching my heart, I took a look at the others stitched before me and it looked like everyone else was doing 1 over 2...I did 2 over 2 - which gave my heart a full look. I hope that it was ok. I enjoyed stitching on the fabric Karin chose.

I finished stitching my heart on Willeke's RR this evening. It was a treat stitching on 28ct Jobelan for it made for a quick stitch (and easy on the eyes). I have been looking forward to stitching this heart because I love the design of this one. Since it was easy to count down from Michele's heart, I was able to do it. What fun it was! I hope Willeke likes the progress.

Here is Danielle's RR. I finished stitching the heart last night and finished up with my name & state this afternoon. Given the freedom to choose the color and the type of floss, I chose Needle Necessities Overdyed #166 for the heart (stitching 1 over 2) and then DMC #433 (stitching 2 over 2) as a contrast for the little designs in the heart, as well as for my name/state.

For my heart, I chose DMC 155 (a lavendar) and then did the dots in white (1 strand). I actually started to stitch a heart that was on the top in the middle, but it didn't line up according to Kathy's grid, so I chose to rip it out and start the one below Michele's. For I didn't want to throw the RR off.

Her request is for all to stitch single strand over 2 threads. I choice the heart under Michele's because I actually had that color. I was thinking about doing the heart over the middle one, but didn't have the color that was assigned in the floss list. I found the 40 count a little challenging, but felt good about the way my heart came out. I think that the color combo that Donna chose it going to look very nice.
